Khai Dinh king cosplay costume by *Alzheimer13
This artist created a wonderful cosplay of the Vietnamese Emperor Khai Dinh (1885-1925). He handmade most of the costume, including the epaulettes and orders. While not an exact replica, he did capture the opulence of the Emperor’s wardrobe.
I found this while doing some research for inspiration for a Vietnamese/Asian-themed steampunk costume. It reminds me that I have to do a photoset about the real Emperor in the future.WELL.

Mike Mignola tutorial, c.1997. I remember liking this so much I pasted the pages straight into my sketchbook
I can think of five or six professional cartoonists whose entire portfolio was cribbed from this one tutorial.
Beautiful stuff, tho, the bit on texture alone is invaluable.
Mike Mignola breaks it down!
